About Andrew

My roots in the High Country go back to day one — born in Boone, and I came back as soon as I could to stay for good.

From summer camps to sold signs.

My roots in the High Country go back to day one — I was born in Boone, North Carolina. When it came time to put down roots of my own, there was only one place that felt like home. I came back, graduated from Appalachian State University, and never looked back. A true Mountaineer through and through.

For over twenty years, I worked in the non-profit summer camp industry. That world taught me what matters: genuine relationships, showing up when you say you will, and putting people first. When I transitioned to real estate, I brought all of that with me.

I joined Blue Ridge Realty & Investments in Blowing Rock because they share those values — a local brokerage with deep roots in the community, not a franchise operation following corporate playbooks. We know the mountains because we live in them.

When I'm not helping clients find their mountain home, you'll find me fly fishing on the Watauga or New River, photographing the ridgelines at dawn, or exploring some back road in Ashe County I haven't been down yet.

Four things that set me apart.

01

Local Expert

Born in Boone and back for good. I know every ridge and hollow, which roads ice over first in winter, where the cell service drops out, and which neighborhoods have the best long-range views. That kind of knowledge doesn't come from a weekend visit. It comes from years of living in these mountains.

02

Mountain Market Specialist

Second homes, short-term rentals, investment properties, land — mountain real estate is different from the flatlands. I specialize in the nuances that matter up here.

03

Responsive & Honest

Straight talk, no pressure. I'll tell you if a property doesn't make sense for your goals. I return calls, answer questions, and keep you in the loop at every step.

04

Strong Network

Lenders who understand mountain construction loans. Inspectors who know what to look for in a 4,500-foot elevation cabin. Contractors, well drillers, and septic engineers who have worked these slopes for decades. I'll connect you with the right people — not just anyone with a license.

More than just a business card.

Real estate is what I do, but the mountains are who I am. When I'm not showing properties or negotiating contracts, you'll find me exploring the back roads of the High Country with my golden retriever, cheering on the Mountaineers, or enjoying a craft beer at one of our local breweries.

I believe the best agents aren't just knowledgeable — they're genuinely invested in the community they serve. This isn't just where I work. It's home.

What people are saying.

Not only did Andrew become our realtor, he also became our concierge — connecting us with local government, legal representation, contractors, and the best places to eat. He even sent drone pictures of our land. Most importantly, he became our friend. Two thumbs up!

— Steve Drake · Buyer, Creston

My wife and I had been trying to sell our lot for a few years. When we spoke with Andrew, he did a thorough review of our lot. It sold in less than one month. We trusted him from day one and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone for real estate needs.

— Michael Plemons · Seller

We had a very specific desire for land in Ashe County. Not only did Andrew know the area, he had actually walked the property we decided to buy. The negotiation was complex — two separate sellers to combine the total land — and he navigated it perfectly.

— Tim Cool · Buyer, Lansing

Andrew was the best. He found all that we wished for in the property we purchased in Lansing. I would absolutely use Andrew again to buy or sell and would highly recommend him to anyone looking to purchase or sell in NC.

— Phyllis Belk · Buyer, Lansing

Working with Andrew on the sale of our land was a pleasure. He is professional and knowledgeable. Andrew kept us informed throughout the process from beginning to end. He is a great negotiator. We look forward to working with him again.

— Kim Gay · Seller

Andrew did a great job managing my expectations and helping me make good decisions. I'd work with him again!
